Ashland County Fair Donation

Thank you Ashland County Fair participants!! We just received our first donation of 580 pounds of sausage and pork chops! We have more donations being processed and they are expected  to be delivered within the week. Thanks so much to all the donors. This will certainly help us fill our freezers and help families needing food in  Ashland  County.

Coats For Kids

We need coats! There is a nip in the air and our little ones will be needing a winter coat soon. We start giving out coats next month and need to stock our racks. We are asking for new coats for little ones up to teenagers. At our new “Kids Clothes Closet” we are trying to provide our local kids with new clothes, shoes and coats. If you could purchase a new one that would be great, but we welcome gently used coats as well. Last year we gave out over 400 coats. We all know that children perform better in school and the community when they feel good about themselves and we want to be a part of that if only in this small way.

“AU GIVES” Food Drive

“AU GIVES” Food Drive was a huge success again this year. The student volunteers went out on Saturday and collected food to stock our shelves. What a fabulous group of young adults volunteering to make a difference in our community. Thanks go out to the students, the many people that donated and to our own Associated Charities volunteers that came in to sort and stock the shelves. What a wonderful group of people that have given of their time to help others!! Blessed!!

“Unstuffing the Bus”

We want to give a big shout out thank you to the Hillsdale Football team along with Coach Williams for helping us on Saturday to “Unstuff the Bus”! Thanks also to Teri and Addison for their help. The United Way’s bus will be at Walmart again this Saturday in  case you missed it last week. We want to thank everyone that helped with school supplies for our Ashland county youth!

Barbasol Grant

We are honored to receive a grant again this year from Barbasol to help those less fortunate children in Ashland County with back to school clothes and to have clothing available year round. We want our school liaisons to be able to come at a moments notice and get clothes for the children they see that are in immediate need. Thanks to so many  for helping us get our Kids Clothes Closet up and fully stocked. None of this is possible without our fabulous supporters, friends and volunteers!

Kids Fest

What a wonderful day for our Kids Fest at our new location. The weather was great and the crowds were amazing. Thanks to so many volunteers and donors that made it all possible. See you next year!!

Ashland County Community Foundation – Women’s Fund Grant

We are so grateful to the Ashland County Community Foundation, Women’s Fund, for approving our request for a grant to purchase clothes to stock our Kids Clothes Closet. We are working hard to provide those children in need in our county with new or gently used clothes for back to school and throughout the year. Thank you ACCF, Women’s Fund for helping us to make all of this possible.

Ashland Postal Food Drive

Thanks to our local postal carriers for their annual food drive on Saturday. And thanks go out to all their customers for the many donations of food and taxables. All donations will be divided between the Ashland County Food Bank and the Salvation Army.

Kids Clothes Closet

Our JUSST back to school clothing program is in full swing right now! We are out shopping to stock our new “Kids Clothes Closet” with new clothing for our Ashland County youth. We have several ways you can help: purchase new jeans, underwear, socks, shoes (teen sizes are needed) and t-shirts for school age children, or you can send a donation to the office or hit the donate button at the top of this page. School supplies are also a need and can be dropped off at the office or at United Way’s “Stuff the Bus” on August 5th and 12th at Walmart. We also welcome gently used clothes for our school aged children.

We have turned the focus of our clothing bank on the children of Ashland County. We want to provide those children in need with new or gently used clothes. It is a proven fact that children perform better in school and in the community when they feel good about themselves. We want to be a part of helping those less fortunate children in our county. We welcome donations of new clothes and shoes, as well as gently used items. So if you are out shopping and see a pair of jeans, a shirt, socks, underwear or shoes, please keep us in mind! We also need winter coats, if not for this year then next! In 2016 we gave out 425 winter coats!
