Clothing Donation

We are so grateful for the support we have received for our “Kids Closet” from the community. One of our regular supporters just dropped off jeans, tops, sweaters, pajamas and a robe for our local children. Would love to see their little faces when they put on that new Star Wars shirt or that soft Frozen robe. To our friend that dropped off this fabulous donation today – Thank You!

Sausage Donation – Miller Family

What a blessing!! Thank you Ray and Jackie Miller for the donation of a whole hog to our Ashland County Food Bank. That is 165 packages of sausage filling up our freezer. We can’t say thank you enough to our donors like Ray and Jackie for all their support in helping others in Ashland county.

Calvary Baptist Church Donation

Ken & Millie Trigg from Calvary Baptist Church just dropped off a truck load of food and taxable items. We want to thank the many local churches that support Associated Charities/Ashland County Food Bank throughout the year!

Note from Liaison

Note from school liaison:

I wanted to thank you again for finding shoes for everyone in this family. There were 5 children in this family and I have been trying to connect with the parents all year. They have been hesitant to trust anyone. I have been looking for a way to connect and noticed that 2 of the children never wore tennis shoes, so I thought that might be a way I can help this family. I called the parents and found out all the children were in need and they agreed to allow me to try and find tennis shoes for the children. This is the first time they accepted help. I had tried at Thanksgiving and Christmas to help this family and they wouldn’t accept any help, I think due to pride, which is admirable. These children are the sweetest kids you will ever meet. When I gave them their shoes they were so happy, it was all I could do to hold back the tears. I could not have done this without Associated Charities’ help. I know sometimes you don’t get to see the joy on the children’s faces and don’t always receive the thank you that you deserve. Not only were you able to give shoes to children in need you also lifted their spirits and helped me build a relationship with the parents. Today it was shoes, but tomorrow it may be a bigger need and now the family feels safer in reaching out to me.

This is why our Kids Closet is so important. And the thanks for this goes to the many donors that give of their time and money to stock our racks and shelves.

Thank you!

Kids Closet

Our Kids Closet is available to any Ashland County child in need of clothing. If you know someone with a child up to age 18 that could use some help, please let them know about our “Kids Clothes Closet”.

Volunteer – Sara (the Elf) Koehler

This is our resident “Elf”, Sarah Koehler! She came in to help pass out toys for the little ones in our county at our Christmas program. We love her smile and the joy she brings every time she volunteers. She is a regular volunteer at the Ashland County Food Bank and in the summer she brings her daughter, Leah to help at our annual “Kids Fest”. Look for them again this year! Thank you Sarah and Leah for all you do for others!
