About Us

Welcome to Associated Charities. We’re so glad you’re here!

Our mission is to provide short-term emergency financial assistance to the people in Ashland County in the way of utilities, shelter, medication, and pre-approved doctor and dental visits. We’re also pleased to serve as the clearing house for the Ashland County Food Bank, allowing us to assist with financial help as well as food.

We receive 56% of our funding from United Way funds. The other remaining dollars come from area churches, organizations, and generous individuals working together to make our community a stronger place.

In 2010, Associated Charities celebrated 100 years of service to the residents of Ashland County. With continued support from our caring community, we plan to keep making history–one life at a time.

About Us

Founded in 1910, Associated Charities is one of the regions most trusted and respected nonprofit organizations providing short-term help to thousands of qualified residents in Ashland County year after year

♦ When a family with young children has nowhere to turn for food…

♦ When a senior citizen must choose between filling a critically needed prescription and paying a heating bill…

♦ When a single mother loses her job and is faced with an eviction…

Associated Charities is there to bridge the gap between an immediate and seemingly insurmountable crisis and a  longer-term solution. The ultimate goal is to equip and empower clients for the future.

On August 23, 2016 Associated Charities moved to their newly renovated facility at 240 Cleveland Avenue in downtown Ashland. The new facility is ADA accessible, has ample, safe parking and provides much more warehouse space for the food bank storage as well as the food pantry. I is easily accessible to all who need their services.

A United Way Partner Agency

Associated Charities is a United Way Partner Agency supported for their Financial Program offering assistance to those in Ashland County with their proven emergency need for rent, utility disconnection, or emergency non-narcotic prescription assistance and food. Financial assistance may be given one time in a twelve (12) month period and is based on a qualified need. Food needs are different; anyone with a proven emergency need, residing in Ashland County, is eligible to receive food for their family.
