Food Bank

The mission of the Ashland County Food Bank is to provide temporary short-term food assistance to persons having proof of economic need and residing in Ashland County, OH. Where possible, it is also the Food Bank’s goal to educate clients to other resources that are available to them in the community.

The Ashland County Food Bank is solely supported by the very generous donations collected from 30 churches, businesses, organizations and the caring individuals of Ashland County. It is overseen by a volunteer board from the community. The board shall always have a representative from Emmanuel United Methodist Church, as they pioneered the Food Bank in 1977.

One of the visions here at the Ashland County Food Bank is to continually reach out to the remote areas of Ashland County to establish “satellite” food centers for their communities. We have the following satellites: Our Polk satellite is held the 3rd Tuesdayof every month at the Polk Firestation from 6pm until the food is gone and is run by volunteers from the Polk fire department and 5 Stone Church. Our Perrysville satellite is held the 4th Wednesday of every month from 6pm to 6:45 pm or until the food is gone at the Perrysville Community Center and is run by the Perrysville Association of Churches.
